Partnership - Our School Council

The Channel Christian School Council is a group of approximately eight parents plus the  Principal who are representatives of the wider parent body.

Our School Council’s role is to:

  • Support the Principal and staff
  • Participate in the formation and maintenance of the School Development Plan
  • Assist in keeping the parent body informed of developments within the school and the broader Association
  • Coordinate parent forums when required
  • Ensure accountability of sub-committees through a reporting process
  • Seek parent input on issues as appropriate
  • Oversee fundraising for the school to meet its objectives
  • Be the forum through which the Principal liaises with the parent body
  • Organise social events for community-building and to promote contact between families

To become a member, you need to be a School Association member nominated from within the school community and appointed by the Board of Christian Schools Tasmania.

Council members usually serve a three year term, up to a maximum of six years.
