Learn - Our Library is a wonderful place

Our Channel Christian School Library is a central part of our school.  It is a wonderful place where your child will learn, explore, relax and find adventure.

In our non-fiction collection there are books about all kinds of topics including animals, history, craft, mapping, poetry, religion, biography, facts, art and music.  Your child will discover a collection of picture books to expand their imagination, books that will help build their vocabulary and literacy, as well as books to inspire their dreams.

Our fiction collection has books to suit every child from easy chapter books through to epic adventures, classics and graphic novels.  Your child can experience stories about children of all kinds, from the ‘ordinary’ to those whose lives we can hardly imagine.

Our Library is open for anyone during recess three days a week.  All are welcome to come and read, browse and relax away from the hustle bustle of the playground.  Children can play a board game or just chill out in quiet surroundings.

There is also a Library Club and an after-school Coding Club.

Other special opportunities our Library has are:

  • Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Week
  • Book Character dress-up day
  • Author visits
  • Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery visiting exhibitions
  • Library excursions
  • Scholastic Book Club
